V.A.R is a thrash metal band formed in 1989 in Liberec, a city in the northern Czech Republic. V.A.R stands for "Vratislavice Alcoholic Roar" and comes from the brewery that once existed in that city.
Their first album, "Personal Destruction," released in 1992, has been passed down as a masterpiece of Czech thrash metal, selling over 30,000 copies at the time. Also, they were ridiculed as the "Czech-TANKARD" at that time.
Darker Than Darkness Records has officially reissued this classic album as a double CD with 49 songs, adding live recordings, compilation songs, and the masterpiece first demo, plus second demo!
The booklet contains plenty of rare photos from that time. Also included is an interview with Jan "Jeny" Janota and a logo beer coaster as bonus.
